Math is a Verb: Discovering Mathematics All Around Us

Most of us do not like Mathematics. People often say I HATE MATHS. There’s nothing to hate it. We often associate our hated to the way it is taught or the person who taught us. We asked few doctor’s why they choose a medical profession? You are right, they didn’t want to do more math after their High School and choose Biology instead.

For most of us, Mathematics is a noun. It is something we learnt in school. Even though we are not aware, mathematics is something we do as an intrinsic part of our everyday lives. We do not have just one word to describe mathematics, instead, we name it as we use it – as we count, or cook, or while crossing the road, or building, or designing, or just fishing, we are doing mathematics.

We at Walden’s Path School approach to mathematics as Play, as an Art, as Music and as Language. We help our children discover mathematics all by themselves and let them enjoy it.

This November, we are celebrating Mathematics. Math is a Verb – Discovering Mathematics All around Us. WE LOVE MATHS and we would like to spread this love for maths. We are building curriculum, pedagogies, approaches, tools and lot more to share with the world.
